Salvation

A relationship with Jesus starts with you trusting in Him, and believing that He is who He says He is and did what He said He did. In a nutshell, here’s what He says about why we need relationship for Him, and how we were created for that very thing!

God loves us and created us to be with Him
Genesis 1:27 So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them.
Ezekiel 37:27 I will make my home among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
►We were made to be in a relationship with God from the beginning!

Our sin separates us from God.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
►Sin is anything we do that hurts our relationship with God. Because of our sin our relation ship with God was broken.

Sins cannot be forgiven by good deeds.
Ephesians 2:8 God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Galatians 3:11 Consequently, it is clear that no one can ever be right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life."
►All the good deeds in the world are not enough to fix our relationship with God.

Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again.
Mark 10:45 For even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many."
Romans 5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
►Jesus’ death on the cross paid the price for our sins and fixes our relationship with God!

Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life.
John 1:12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
Romans 10:9 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
►To have our relationship fixed and made right, all we have to do is believe in our heart in Jesus and ask Him to forgive us!

Life that’s eternal means we will be with Jesus forever.
John 17:3 And this is the way to have eternal life-- to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
1 John 5:13 I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
►If we have believed in Jesus, then our sins are forgiven, our relationship with God is fixed, and we will get to be with Him forever!

If you believe that Jesus loves you and died on the cross for your sins, and rose from the dead 3 days later, then to start a relationship with Him is really pretty simple, it is as easy as
A, B, C!

Admit that you’re a sinner
Dear Jesus, I know that I’m a sinner and I don’t deserve Your love of
forgiveness…

Believe that Jesus is who He said He is
But I know that You do love me. I believe that You lived the perfect
life in my place; and that You died for my sin…in my place. And, I
believe that You are alive today-risen from the dead!

Confess that Jesus is Lord
I surrender my life to You. Please forgive me of my sin, come into
my life and make me a brand new person. Thank you for saving me!
