Birth Date: February 10, 1979

Married to: Jolee, May 19, 2001

When it all gets boiled down, what's the most important thing in life? Loving God, and loving each other.  Loving God because of the crazy grace He showed us by forgiving our sins through the cross even though we didn't deserve it, and loving each other because we are made in God's image and know what it is like to experience that grace. My life is simply a journey trying to reach the place where that describes who I am. I am daily learning how to love God more, and to accept his wonderful love for me, and I'm trying to really make it my nature to see people as God does (and He sees them as full of worth and love) and to love them the way He does.

My life is pretty crazy, but it's good! I have a wonderful wife who makes me smile and laugh often, 4 beautiful daughters and 1 handome son. . My hobbies are reading (fiction and non-fiction) and I'd love to talk books, and I really like sports, guitar, science-fiction and hunting.

My hope and dream for FBCKC is that we will really become not a church but a community that is focused on loving God with all our hearts, soul and minds, and who naturally translate that into caring for our city, community, state and world. My desire is for this to be the place where you know you are always welcome and wanted, and you can come to explore and examine what it means to love and to be loved by our amazing God. I'd love for you to come in and stop by some time to talk. Let's take this journey and see where it takes us!

When the Pharisees heard how he had bested the Sadducees, they gathered their forces for an assault. One of their religion scholars spoke for them, posing a question they hoped would show him up: "Teacher, which command in God's Law is the most important?"Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.' This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them."   Matthew 22:32-40

Travis Scott came on staff as the youth minister on June 23, 2014, but he and his wife Jayme have been volunteering with the youth from the beginning of the summer.  They joined the church three years ago when they and their three kids, Brayden, Baylee, and Logan, moved here from the Dallas area and have been serving God with us here in various ways ever since.  We are very excited to see how God uses Travis and Jayme to teach the youth in the community about God's love for them and his ultimate plan of salvation for their lives.

Married:  Nathan is my wonderful husband.  We were married on August 3, 2002.  What a treasured day that was.  God answered my prayers for the man I would marry when he brought Nathan into my life.  I married my best friend and have been enjoying the journey together since then.

Children:  On April 30, 2006 God blessed our little family with the addition of Brenna.  Parenting has been one of the biggest challanges in my life.  I have learned about prayer, forgiveness, love, and myself.  I thank God daily for our little girl.

Nathan, Brenna, and I moved to Karnes City from Georgia in August of 2007.  It was quite a change for us, but Nathan and I both feel God brought us here for a purpose and we are in the center of his plan now.  We started attending First Baptist Church shortly after we moved here, and were welcomed into a friendly and giving church family.  We love serving God with our brothers and sisters in Christ here.  I started volunteering with the youth group and AWANAs a little over a year ago.  I am grateful for the opportunity to serve your kids.  Nathan enjoys leading the church in worship on Sunday mornings.  We are both grateful for a place to serve, worship, and be fed with the word of God.
