When it all gets boiled down, what's the most important thing in life? Loving God, and loving each other. My life is simply a journey trying to reach the place where that describes who I am. I am daily learning how to love God more, and to accept his wonderful love for me, and I'm trying to really make it my nature to see people as God does (and He sees them as full of worth and love) and to love them the way He does.
My life is pretty crazy, but it's good! I have a wonderful wife who makes me smile and laugh often, 4 beautiful daughters and no more on the way. I am trying to learn how to live in a house with so much estrogen, but wouldn't want to be anywhere else but with all my girls. My hobbies are reading (fiction and non-fiction) and I'd love to talk books, and I really like sports, guitar, science-fiction and just fun things.
My hope and dream for FBCKC is that we will really become not a church but a community that is focused on loving God with all our hearts, soul and minds, and who naturally translate that into caring for our city, community, state and world. My desire is for this to be the place where you know you are always welcome and wanted, and you can come to explore and examine what it means to love and to be loved by our amazing God. I'd love for you to come in and stop by some time to talk. Let's take this journey and see where it takes us!
When the Pharisees heard how he had bested the Sadducees, they gathered their forces for an assault. One of their religion scholars spoke for them, posing a question they hoped would show him up: "Teacher, which command in God's Law is the most important?"Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.' This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them." Matthew 22:32-40
